About Us
This website has been developed by the Savaii Samoa Tourism Association to provide you with more information about Savaii so you can get the most from your holiday.
The Savaii Samoa Tourism Association is an association of committed local businesses involved in tourism. We work together to share limited resources and improve the experience of our visitors. Savaii is a very quiet and traditional island and tourism is the main source of employment and economic activity on Savaii. By growing tourism we create jobs which over time will improve the standard of living for all those in Savaii.
Our association operates a small tourist information centre in Salelologa – look for us as you leave the wharf – we are 30m up the road in the apricot building. Our tourist information centre staff are friendly and keen to help you enjoy your holiday. Visitors can also use our facilities including our air-conditioned guest lounge, outdoor terrace area and clean toilets. We also stock a small range of quality local Samoan gifts.
We receive a small amount of government funding and exist thanks to membership subscriptions and micro grants. We are proud and very grateful for the support and assistance from all our partners: including Samoa Tourism Authority, Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Labour, Samoa Hotel Association, New Zealand High Commission, UNDP Global Environment Facility-Small Grants Programme and NZ Volunteer Service Abroad. We welcome donations, however small to help us keep our doors open.
Our association is governed by an elected committee who donate their time and expertise to providing direction and oversight. Our current Executive Committee are:
